MEV explained in forty seconds
A short walkthrough of what the bot looks for, how a trade is built and why it either lands in full or not at all.
The order of transactions is worth money
Maximal Extractable Value is the profit available from choosing which transactions go into a block and in what order. When a large swap moves a price, a gap opens between markets for a few hundred milliseconds. Searchers close that gap and keep the difference.
No public mempool on Solana. Transactions stream straight to the current leader, so speed and direct connections matter more than anywhere else.
Bundles land together or not at all. Through the Jito block engine, a set of transactions executes atomically. If the trade is no longer profitable, nothing is executed.
Validators are paid with tips. The bot shares part of each profit with the validator to win priority over other searchers.
Four steps, repeated every slot
The whole cycle runs in under a slot. You set the limits, the engine handles the rest.
Listen
Streams account updates and transactions from validators through Geyser and ShredStream, before they are confirmed.
Simulate
Every candidate route is simulated against live pool state. Only trades above your minimum profit move forward.
Bundle and tip
The trade and a validator tip are packed into one bundle and sent to the Jito block engine for the next leader.
Settle
If the bundle lands, profit settles to your wallet in the same block. If it loses the auction, it is dropped and costs nothing.
Every kind of MEV, in plain terms
Six strategies the bot can run, plus two that exist on chain but harm other traders. We explain those too, so you know what to watch out for.
